Thibaut Courtois would have been looking forward to the international break after the return of Zinedine Zidane at Real Madrid. The Belgian had to make do with a place on the bench during the 2-0 win over Celta Vigo last weekend, with Keylor Navas reinstated to the starting lineup.Zidane is a big fan of the Costa Rican shot-stopper who was pivotal to his three consecutive Champions League wins during his first spell.Ousting Navas will not be an easy task for Courtois, especially after his patchy form with Los Blancos already this season. However, Belgium were never going to drop him after his heroics at the World Cup, so Courtois was given a chance to impress Zidane in the Euro 2020 qualifier against Russia tonight.

But instead of delivering a calm, assured performance, the former Chelsea man produced one of the biggest goalkeeping howlers you will see this season.
With Belgium trying to play out from the back, Courtois simply dwelled on the ball for far too long, causing him to trip and pass the ball to Denis Cheryshev - the Russian winger duly scored.
You can watch the glorious gaffe below.

Oh dear, Thibaut.
Nothing seems to be going right for Courtois right now and game time at Real is about to get even more sparse for him.
Thankfully, his place for Belgium shouldn't be under threat just yet, with Simon Mignolet getting no game time at Liverpool right now.
However, Koen Casteels could be breathing down his neck, with the Wolfsburg man impressing in the Bundesliga in 2018/19.
